Getting Started

To get started with Data Processing Cluster v1.0 - EMR on EC2, work with the business program/project manager of the FAS Enterprise Data Architecture (EDA) initiative, Clifton Best. There is already a single tenancy, EDA, for this pilot of EMR, and FCS will not be adding additional EMR on EC2 clusters. We encourage new users of EMR to start on the Data Processing Cluster v2.0 - EMR Serverless product.

Request Access to EMR

FCS Account Request

Request FCS Account via Jira Service Management (JSM) Select Jira link above

Choose FCS Access Request

Fill the form as follows:

Requested For: If you are creating a ticket for someone else, please change this field to be the one who needs the access. Otherwise, keep your name as pre-populated.
Supervisor: Clifton Best - QP1EA
Tenant Application: FCS Data Services
FCS Service: EMR
User Role: Application Developer
Environment: Prod
Additional Comments: Requesting access as EDA Prod EMR User

Once your request is approved and access is granted (usually takes 1-2 business days):

If you already have an FCS account, you will receive an email generated from ServiceNow notifying you that your request has been completed, which means the access to the EMR is granted to your account. Please follow instructions in Sign In to EMR section of this document.
If you did not have an FCS account before, you will receive an email that looks like the one below to reset your initial password and start using your account to access the EMR.
